FUELLED BY CO-OP, the 2025 Racing Season roared to life on May 24 at Sutherland Automotive Speedway in Saskatoon. From the first race it was clear this season would be fast and fiercely competitive, with last year’s rivalries heating up again. Defending champion Kyle O’Connell #67 of Lloydminster and Dave Vennard #7 from Sherwood Park, AB were quick to establish themselves, while Neil Fitzgerald #14 of Wainwright, AB also proved he would be a strong contender for the 2025 Championship.

The MNP SATURDAY NITE THUNDER TOUR returned to Sutherland Automotive Speedway on June 7. Competition was stiff, with Grant Mills #8 of Wainwright, AB making things tough as he continued to show speed. Craig Keller #11 of Lacombe, AB ran strong, while Brian Sparks #2 of Edgerton, AB, Ed Szafranski #10 of Edgerton, AB, Gary Sarnecki #13 of Calmar, AB, Davin Kropinske #79 of Hardisty, AB, and Brad Cameron #20 of Vimy, AB all kept the action close with door-to-door racing for the fans.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature intervened as the Medicine Hat Speedway event on June 21 was RAINED OUT. Scheduling conflicts prevented a makeup date this season, but anticipation is already building for a return to Medicine Hat in 2026.

Teams then travelled to Hythe Motor Speedway for the July 5–6 race weekend. The two-day event featured truck displays in Grande Prairie and delivered packed grandstands with exciting, competitive racing. Rookie #0 Kevin McLean of Sherwood Park, AB made his debut, showing great promise as a future contender. Ricky Somers #9 of Grande Prairie, a veteran of Hythe Speedway, showed everyone he can get the job done. Door-to-door battles in the features gave the fans a thrilling show.

Again, Mother Nature struck, forcing cancellation of the Sutherland Automotive Speedway race in Saskatoon on July 19 due to rain.

Race teams regrouped and hit the road Aug. 9–10 for an epic trip to Prince George Speedway Park in Prince George, BC. Despite bad weather on Saturday, track crews worked hard to keep the show alive, and although delayed, the crowd stayed for a full race weekend.

At that event, Dean Braham #76 of Kelowna, BC looked quick and established himself as the truck to beat, but an early crash (Dean was okay) ended his weekend. The #76 truck suffered heavy damage in a hard hit to the front wall that shook the flag stand before being loaded onto the trailer for repairs. Ricky Somers #9 had a stellar weekend with two wins, while Brad Cameron #20 was fast in the qualifiers. Intense, door-to-door racing kept fans on edge, though Davin Kropinske #79 of Hardisty, AB ended his weekend in the wall as well. The teams did well to overcome a long trip and a rough weekend on the equipment.

The Aug. 23 event back at Sutherland Automotive Speedway set the stage for the Series Championship showdown. Dave Vennard #7 and Kyle O’Connell #67 battled fiercely for every point in their head-to-head title fight. Grant Mills #8 stayed strong in contention, while newcomer Josh Tissington #3 from Calgary showed immediate promise as a rising force for 2026. The SHOWDOWN was set: Vennard led O’Connell by just 4 points heading into the season finale.

On Sept. 6, 2025, the Series Final returned to Saskatoon at Sutherland Automotive Speedway, and it did not disappoint. Vennard and O’Connell went side-by-side, bumper-to-bumper in the 75-lap feature, each fighting for every inch of track. In the end, #7 Dave Vennard emerged victorious, crowned the 2025 MNP Canadian Super Truck Racing Series Champion!
