Track Talk
Update: The Canadian Super Trucks Racing Series Wind Up Party is scheduled for November 2, 2024, in Wainwright, Alberta. There are already some rooms reserved at the Best Western for those coming from out of town.
We are heading in to the halfway point of the schedule for the Canadian Super Truck Racing Series. Drivers and their crews can be very proud of what they are building with the series. Fourteen teams have shown up for the first four races, as we head in to our exciting NASCAR weekend. Some exciting door to door action with some bumping, some fireworks and great finishes. Kyle O Connell (67) is our points leader and very close behind is Dave Vennard (7), with rookie driver Ryan O Connell (76) coming in third on points.
The series has had some tremendous help from some Professional Contingency Partners. Dan with Minuteman Press Red Deer has provided us with print materials, greatly enhancing our marketing and promotions for the series. We are very fortunate to have Brent Just from Just Sports Photography providing professional photos of the drivers, race trucks and some great action shots. Brent also does the photos for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders (CFL) and the Saskatoon Berries (WCBL) Saskatoon Rush, so we are with the best.
Looking back, some of our drivers have been showcasing their trucks at trade shows, schools and car/truck displays. These events promote the series, make sure you talk to your sponsors about what you can do to promote at their office or shop.
Heading into the weekend, racing fans will have the opportunity to see how good the drivers are, looking at track speeds that are very close to professional drivers in the NASCAR Pintys Series. Drivers in our series will be asked to show some patience and respect in our Friday night race so we can show NASCAR we should be their backup series when they travel to the west in 2025.
